Dark Mind

Dark Mind
  • Original

In the darkness of mediation, in the depth of the mind. There where it is quiet & full of space. There is truth, there are answers. Peaceful in the approach and with an open mind, the depths of the human being can be explored. Freedom to be found within ourselves, within the darkness.

Context: During a session of meditiation, while sitting with my eyes open
it occured to me how suddenly the room had turned dark. At that moment
the very realisation made my vision of the room come back. While making
this artwork I often thought of how the realisation made the vision return.
The black shape behind the figure resembles the moment just before my
vision turned to black. I remeber how it closed in around me like a capsule.

The action or practice of contemplation, study, thought, consideration, reflection, prayer,
deliberation, concentration “cultivating the presence of God in meditation and prayer”.
