Returning Home

A return, not to a place—but to self. A circling back. Gathering the scattered.
Re-emerging, re-integrating, reigniting the inner flame.

The journey sparked in 2015 lit a flame that pulled me out of the darkest
places. It carried me through trials, inward spirals, and creative storms—
and in the end, brought me back to myself.

Suddenly, there was flow. A cycle of intense creative clarity and spiritual resurgence.

This is Returning Home:
A trilogy across time, spanning 2020 to 2023.
Crystallized in 450 artefacts—visual transmissions.
An eruption of presence. A return to wholeness.

From Fragment to FlowBono Mourits, Extra Extra, read all about it. After five years immersed in my sketchbooks, marinating in memories, unresolved emotions,
and the deep processing of the Twilight Zone, the dam finally broke. 2020 arrived like a torrent.

What had been stuck began to move. What had been silent began to sing.
My broken vessel burst—and from it came a river, leading to a waterfall of expression.
And out poured art. Line. Motion. Rhythm. Flame.
Horsetail Falls, Collage 2023.

Erupting a wild current of vibrant art, through vivid fluent motions and lines
envisioned in my mind, styles and shapes come manifested through me.
Crystallized, they shine—reflecting to others, and through others to others.

This wasn’t random output. It was an arrival. Art flowed through me, not just from me
— a dance between gesture, memory, and the ineffable. A river remembering its source.

Lineage of FormBono Mourits, Extra Extra, read all about it.The works in Returning Home aren’t just aesthetic. They’re artefacts of a spiritual return.
They carry the spark of The Beginning, tempered through the shadows of the Twilight Zone.

They are crystallized proof of a truth I now carry: That healing does make beauty.
That style can become legacy. That lines born from pain can reflect light in others
—and through others, back again.

Answer, Haiku by Bono Mourits, 2020.

What began as a slow rebuilding became a celebration. New shapes emerged, but
they echoed older ones—styles grandfathering styles, evolving yet rooted.

This was no longer private practice—it had become transmission. Drawings that reached
beyond personal need, resonating in others, forming bridges of recognition. What began as
personal survival became shared spirit—through that, I found ground beneath my feet again.

Full Circle Ending CycleBono Mourits, Extra Extra, read all about it. After the raw foundations of The Beginning, and the aching in-between of Twilight Zone,
this period marked a clarity. Not to comfort or retreat—but to truth. To wholeness. To a
grounded sense of direction. A cycle complete. A spiral closed, and ready to begin anew.

A Home That Travels With YouBono Mourits, Extra Extra, read all about it. The Returning Home trilogy has been collected in three printed, pocket-sized catalogues.
Each holds the full list of works for its chapter—along with materials, dates, and details.
